Hajnówka is known as the Gateway to the Forest and is the place where every trip to the Białowieża Forest Reserve begins.
Hajnówka is a cultural, sports, and recreational center. Many concerts and music festivals, as well as numerous sports and recreational events, take place here every year. When visiting Hajnówka, it is worth planning your time to see as many interesting places as possible. Many of them are hidden within the city, but having the right means of transport broadens our possibilities.
- The Trinity Cathedral – a pearl of Hajnówka's sacred architecture – a two-level temple with interesting architecture by Prof. Aleksander Grygorowicz, accommodating 5,000 worshippers, making it one of the largest in the country. Crossing the threshold of the church, one can feel suspended between heaven and earth. The interior of the church, decorated with beautiful polychromes illustrating the New Testament by Greek artist Dymitrios Andonopulos, sets a spiritual atmosphere for visitors.
- The Museum of Blacksmithing and Locksmithing - a private museum based on a family forge.
- The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross – a sacred building that houses unique, historic 28-voice organs from the Wrocław studio of the firm “Schlag und Söhne,” made at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
- The Museum and Center of Belarusian Culture – the only center presenting the cultural wealth, history, and traditions of Podlasie inhabited by the Belarusian national minority. The museum organizes temporary exhibitions featuring the works of local artists, as well as artists from Belarus.
- The Bison Monument – a life-sized bronze figure of the bison – the king of the forest.
- The Water Park – an ideal place for relaxation and active recreation.
- The Church of St. Cyril and Methodius – a modern temple built in a neo-baroque style. At the front, there are two 38-meter high towers with an observation deck between them on either side of the main entrance.
- The Tourist Narrow Gauge Railway – a train journey that allows you to admire the surrounding nature and soak in the incredible scents and unique colors of the Białowieża Forest.
- The Miniatures Park of Podlasie Monuments – created to showcase the beauty of the historic architecture of the Podlaskie Voivodeship. In the Park, one can admire the colorful wooden architecture characteristic of this region, sacred objects, and palaces.
- Krynoczka - one of the most significant holy sites of Orthodoxy in Podlasie. As in centuries past, pilgrims visiting Krynoczka wipe their afflicted areas with a handkerchief dampened in its water and then leave it on the fence behind the well, symbolically getting rid of their ailments. Nearby stands a wooden church built in 1846 dedicated to the Holy Maccabean Brothers.
